Story
This was done over a weekend as part of Merlin Mann’s Cinematographer project, in which his friends and favorite bands are invited to do a power pop cover of the Will Oldham/Palace Bros lo-fi country song “I Am A Cinematographer.”
To really be power pop, this should have been a little faster, and I should have used fewer keyboard parts (especially in the intro fanfare). But I kind of love the song. The drums were all cut up samples, painstakingly looped over hours and hours. I should really just learn how to play them.
