Gambling with the future, on acoustic guitar. I find it haunting, but most folks call it kinda groovy. This song was inspired by Kim Mann, who I married… to Merlin Mann, of the band Bacon Ray.
Once, she told me how they got engaged. He popped the question after an insomniac night where the two of them tried to get to sleep by playing 20 Questions. You can guess what Question 21 was.
Then, after that terribly romantic tale, I kinda looked at my own occasionally vexed relationship with my longtime girlfriend, and thought of what kind of games I could try playing.
Just to clue you in, I suck at poker.
